I Know Everything

A young man excitedly tells his mother that he’s fallen in love and is going to get married. He says, “Just for fun, Ma, I’m going to bring over three women and you try and guess which one I’m going to marry.” The mother agrees and the next day he brings three beautiful women into the house and sits them down on the couch and they chat for a while. He then says “Ok, Ma. Guess the one I’m going to marry. “ She immediately replies, “the one in the middle.” He was surprised that his mother was so easily able to guess the correct woman. He asked “How do you know?”

Mother replied “I don’t like her!”

The point is mothers always know things about their children. Telepathy has a major role to play in this. When I was a boarder in sixth standard, I accidentally got hit by a brick on my forehead while playing football. The night before this incident, my mother had a dream that I would be drenching in pool of blood though she didn’t know when and how. The next day, her dream came true, at least partially.

The analysis of spontaneous cases of telepathy has shown that people who are emotionally close seem more prone to communicate telepathically. Relation between a mother and child is profound and now there have been evidences that this relation might go deeper than one had thought of.

It has recently been discovered that not only mother’s but her child’s cell also travel into the body of mother and some of these cells have been found to be peacefully living in the brains of the mothers for decades. What impact they may have is only a guess, but there have been conclusions drawn that this may be a cause of extremely accurate telepathy between mother and her child. And while it is known that mother protects her child, it is hypothesized that these cells found in mothers’ brains could somehow protect mother from getting Alzheimer’s.

While science tries to explain it the best it can, there are numerous questions that science cannot answer yet. In Australia around four years back, a baby was declared dead by the doctors as soon as it was born. But the mother sat on the hospital bed hugging her child and after two and half hours the child started coughing and now the child is perfectly fine. When I narrated this incident to one of the servants in my home, she exclaimed “such is the power of love of a mother that even God was forced to return the child back to the mother”

Though many have tried to explain a mother’s instinct in their own ways, this topic is vast much of it is yet to be explored. What, however, is definite for sure is the love that a mother has for her child and it is this love, I believe, that has the answer to why do mothers know everything.

I remember my father long back explained me that in most of the languages, the word of mother either starts with “m” or has “m” in it. Now when I Googled to see if that were true, out of 116 languages, in 78 of them, the word for mother starts with “m” and in 94 languages, “m” consonant was present. While many say that the reason for this is that “m” sound is the easiest for a baby to make, some believe that this “m” sound comes from heart and thus in most of the languages, the word for mother starts with “m”.

The love that a mother has for her child is eternal and she can go to any extent for the well-being of her child. When I was in Bangalore, I used to interact with the vendor near my office who used to make amazing lemon-tea. I remember clearly an incident he narrated, “My mother always lied to me. When I was a child and we didn’t have much to eat, my mother would lie and say “you eat, I am not hungry. I ate at Mrs. Reddy’s when I had gone to do the dishes.” When during rains, both of us once got wet while coming back home and we didn’t have enough money for medicine for both of us, she gave me the medicine that she bought and said “I took the medicine at the chemist’s. You take this” and she wiped my head with a dry cloth. It is because of her lies she is not with me. She didn’t take the medicine because of which she fell sick and passed away. I hate her from the core of my heart for her lies but at the same time it is because of her lies I am living this wonderful life.” He wiped his tears and handed me the lemon tea.
